\u3000\u3000Cultural heritage does not end at monuments and collections of objects.It also includes traditions or living expressions inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants,such as oral traditions,performing arts,social practices,rituals,festive events,knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe or the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts.While these may not be tangible–they cannot be touched–they are a very important part of our cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

\u3000\u3000ICH facilitators can provide guidance on the safeguarding of ICH.Some of them become national-level consultants who would affect the national policy making.In China,however,there is only one active UNESCO-certificated ICH facilitator.Many more are needed to support the rich ICH of China.So,what are the requirements to become an ICH facilitator?<\/p>\n

\u3000\u3000From July 2 to 6,30 ICH facilitators from more than 20 countries gathered in Hangzhou to participate in the Training of Trainers Workshop on ICH for Facilitators from the Asia-Pacific Region co-organized by the UNESCO and International Training Centre for the ICH in the Asia-Pacific under the auspices of UNESCO(CRIHAP).The training focuses on several issues including UNESCO’s capacity building,national-level policy support,international assistance,building the capacity to integrate intangible cultural heritage in development policies and program,and the inclusion of intangible cultural heritage in education.<\/p>\n
